Tashi Luís @ Bordel des Arts - 20.07.2017 Tashi Luís, a young authentic producer and discjockey, who was raised in switzerland and decided to live in Berlin – is the son of a musician and music teacher – so practically, the music runs through his veins. With the age of only 5 years, he got to know the feeling of standing on a big stage, with his background, Tashi’s musical progress was foreseeable. When it comes to his music, he is very experimental, cheerfull and gentle. That describes his sound the best. Tashi releases his own productions on labels like "Metanoia", "ME! Records" or his own Imprint "Guesthouse Berlin". He already had the pleasure to rock countries such as Russia, Portugal, France or Switzerland. In the berlin clubszene are clubs such as "Birgit&Bier", "Ritter Butzke", ...

Artist/songwriter LAVALU & visual artist Anook Cléonne joined forces this spring and brought the inspirational outcome to different salons across Berlin. Bringing back a tradition so popular in the 19th century, Anook & LAVALU entered into a dialogue with their audience about art, music and life. Here's an impression of one of those evenings. Looking forward to our ART SALON TOUR 2018: in Paris. Would you like to be our host or join as a guest? Let us know through: www.lavalu.nl www.anookcleonne.nl
Video by BAL Production for Salon Berlin I Museum Frieder Burda As the first solo exhibition by British-born, Delhi-based artist Bharti Kher in Germany, the show at Salon Berlin comprises a series of recent works dealing with the continuous interplay between creation and destruction, chaos and order. Kher uses Bindis as an artistic means to cover the surfaces of sculptures and readymades in a second skin, or to construct abstract patterns out of the countless dots. The central theme of the exhibition is a series of sculptures that expose the continual interplay of opposing forces and their balance. BAL Productions spoke to the artist Bharti Kher and curator Patricia Kamp about this fragile equilibrium throughout the exhibition, where diametric forces continually seek harmony. Produced b...

Marek Weber und sein Orchester - Die Susi bläst das Saxophon (Susi Blows the Saxophone) Fox-Trot (R.Nelson), HMV 1928 (Recorded in Berlin; UK pressing) NOTE: Marek Weber - one of the most popular dance band leaders in the 20th Century, was born in Poland, in city of Lwów (1888), where he completed the secondary music school in the class of violin. In 1906 he traveled to Berlin to continue his education at the renowned Stern Conservatory, although without any serious ambiotion of becoming a violin virtuose. For the third edition of Real Scenes, RA goes to one of the most special places for electronic music in the world: Berlin. When the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, techno became the underground soundtrack to the reunion between East and West. In recent years, it's become an international destination for ravers—a cheap place to party with clubs that are renowned throughout the world. Techno has become a business in the meantime. Yet Berlin still maintains a credibility that other cities lack. To understand why, RA went to the German capital eager to find out about its unique history and the reasons behind its continued relevance. A new short video critically explores the idea of the collective in the contemporary city, troubling the idea of ‘collective' as inherently beneficial. Who is excluded when we think about ‘we’? And how can we make room for urban contradictions? Featuring reSITE’s founder Martin Barry, curator Lukas Feireiss, artist and critic Charlie Koolhaas, landscape architect Martin Rein-Cano, and architect and curator Anna Scheuermann. The video was produced by PLANE—SITE at the very first My City/Your City salon. The event was organized by reSITE, in partnership with Airbnb and supported by Goethe Institute, at Freunde von Freunden’s Friend’s Space in Berlin. Music: Broke for Free - Miei, Jon Luc Hefferman - Event Horizon

Welcome to Berlin, the capital city of Germany. The first documentation of Berlin appears in the 13th century, and it has a long history of importance—it’s been the capital of the Margraviate of Brandenburg and the Kingdom of Prussia, among others. The lengthy history encompassing the city often manifests in its eclectic collection of architecture, which you should certainly include on your Berlin tour. From the towering classical lines of Charlottenburg Palace, built for the Hohenzollern family in the 17th century, to the sleek mirrored sides of the Bahn Tower, you’re bound to find plenty to look at in the city’s downtown area. Fancy a real German lager? Stop by Prater Garten for a brew—built in 1837, it’s one of the handful of buildings that has survived both World Wars. You can sit ou...

Travel video about destination Berlin in Germany. Berlin is Germany's modern capital city, a fascinating European metropolis with a dramatic history in which contemporary architecture merges with the imposing character of a centuries-old city. The Nokolai Quarter was built by the DDR government as a sort of old town, a European Disneyland for the city's 750th anniversary, a popular area with 'new' medieval buildings that display various guilds and stone statues that surround the city's oldest church. We travel to nearby Potsdam, a city of castles and gardens and with an old town that features a lively market atmosphere. When the monarchy settled there, so did their armies and with them came craftsmen, merchants and artists from many countries. The castle-like Nauener Tor leads to the Rus...
